One Hit Wonder:
Puscifer - The Undertaker (Reinholders Mix)
Excellent New Artists:
Carly Calbero - A virtual unknown who has 2 Full albums already, has a sound in tune with slower paced forms, with a mellifluous voice and thoughtful prose which make her a unique talent in a music-space strewn with forgetable pop "stars".
Found her playing the street outside the pacific place indoor mall in downtown Seattle.
One day when I was coming out of the mall, I decided to stop to eat an apple.
As I leaned against the wall, and faced the outside of the entrance, she was playing on her guitar and singing along, and I was taken aback at how lovely her sound was, and all the while people walked by like nothing special was going on.
It had an element of surreality to it.
It makes you wonder how much talent is never even recognized, and consequently wasted.
This little lady is a real Star.

Natalie Holmes, a student of music that has made some beautiful renditions of other artists work, and has some of her own.
Found her on YouTube, though I rarely go there for my entertainment.

PS: Much as MP3.com's accessability to countless artists sped my searches and finds of great artists, Last.fm is now taking that role....as I have sought to assemble lists, I have been reminded of many bands, and have found some new ones.
Back in 98-00 I spent a tremendous amount of time indulging in the process.....(also an honorable mention is the show "on the edge", courtesy of C89.5 FM.......I got my first taste (and some of my favorite) of industrial and darkwave goodies from them)
I do not presently have the time to indulge like this, though technically you could say the the wastes of time I indulge in are essentially that very time, merely unutilized, though that is a matter of psychic intent.
But I am in process towards making time in the next 12 months or so, and from my few searches and many finds, I imagine it will be no less fruitful, and perhaps more transformative than that first great leap ahead, and into a music space I had never imagined existing.
